Yes used inline fuse. Fuse is still good. Understand start amps approx 12A came with a 20A fuse.

Thanks for confirmation on that one. Its easier to test on bench after check than do a double back flip under dash only to find it does not work.

So fiting a Speedway 12v Electric Wiper Kit.
Fitted it up to car tried it then it stopped. Nil burning smell.
Its a 2 speed set up....

You also can try non projected spark plugs from NGK they may work.
Used these with Edelbrock heads when I had contact with exhaust valve to original projected plug.

Ive tried the dwell meter side on a flathead and could not get a result also.
Used a 12v battery supply for meter on a 6v +ve earh.
Also recently tried with 12v -ve earth and no joy also.

Is this indicitive of all plugs? The plugs seem 'normal ' heat range and your Holley 94 seems to have the standard 51 jets for sea level area. hows the power valve size?

I have a very similar issue with a stumble at low rpm & speed 20 to 30 mph.

Thanks so much for all this info. Now have ruled out the Stromberg big 97 idea.
Its a street vehicle and top speed open road at 60 to 65 mph normally.
So the modified Stromberg with the 48 bowl and...

So will stick with the standard Stromberg 97 and jet up to suit as required as per spark plug indications. NGk B L 6.

Possible that "black one" could be from a cylinder which may not be firing!
To check at all plugs/cylinders for firing. If ok then to next stage.

Yes Brian. My 39 coupe is running a Stromberg 97 jetted at 46.
Its a 221 plus 80 thou. This was checked on a dyno and needed to go from 45 to 46 as little lean at top end.

So with the single 97...

bored 3 5/16 with a 53 Mercury camshaft grind.
presently running single stromberg 97 carb.
For this set up is a" Big Stromberg 97" ok for this...

What will affect the postion of the float in the liquid it sits in is the liquids Specific Gravity.
This also changes with temperature.
But in this case maybe using 25 degrees celcius
SG of fuel...

Yes I do have that one with the wiper connection. However have since gone with electric wipers. Its the bolt for the banjo fitting i'm looking for. My banjo fitting is integral with the steel tube....
