How can I tell if my engine is the original one that came from the factory? I have a 1949 Ford Custom with a 239 Flathead. The numbers on the heads are for a 51 Flathead but not sure of the block.

Shoebox Central does not sell a 1949 ford heater core. I found a radiator shop in Glenside Pa. that will repair any heater core or radiator. Razzi Auto Radiators 215-884-9514

Took it to old well known old school radiator shop and he said the time to rebuild it would be very expensive. Hoping to purchase a new one. Most places have 51 and up, but not 49.

Need a new heater core for my 1949 ford Custom. Cant find one in any of the usual parts catalogs. Took mine to a couple of shops and they wont rebuild it.

Check out Rockauto. They will rebuild your own steering box for under $300.00. You send in yours and they rebuild it and return it. the best price around but you have to wait for them to return it....
