Re: 1932 Ford V8 emblem questions

Maybe I’m wrong but I thought that no of the reproductions made currently or in the past had the part # cast into them.

This comment isn’t directed towards you in any way whatsoever, but when we...

Re: Ignition timing

Hoop,
Yes I agree. I tested many “rebuilt” distributors that the initial timing was not set they just seemed to guess at it.

Re: Ignition timing

Hoop i would agree with that last part if all we used were genuine Ford parts. Ever set up a 32-36 with a feeler gauge using reproduction points and checked the dwell?

The 49 and later guys and...

Ropy Nacewicz Hardware business reopen date

Although, the hardware business is now blanketed under Third Gen Automotive; it will always be in my mind Roy's business.

We have had several inquiries as to the reopen date... That date will be...

Re: Head bolt washers

Don, The washer does not appear in the Earliest of 1940 Parts catalogs, however the 1934-38 catalogs list it (I do not have a 1933 or 1939) in the Canadian 1938 catalog it states the washer was used...

Re: Ignition timing

If you are using quality points although not ideal you could set them by gap not dwell. If you are using cheap quality points it’s a crap shoot. Send it to someone with a sun machine and for little...

Re: Resistor for 12v Skip rewind coil

Charlie, maybe Bubba will chime in but skips coils seem to be .8-1.0 ohms primary. 12v likes 2.8-3.3 ohms so..... In my opinion a 1.8-2.2ohm resistor would be perfect or close to that

What I’ve...

Re: Marsden nuts

This all seems clear to me now, as I remember reading a service letter or bulletin that when the 6.50-16 tires were introduced the change was made.. Does that sound correct Mike?

Re: Marsden nuts

A 1936 did not Originally use marsden nuts. From 1935-41, a 3/8-24 hex nut was used and then from 42 up a 3/8-24 thin marsden but was used. The original 35-41 links with longer threads are hard to...

Jim’s auto battery gets my kudos. I needed a battery for the Central National Meet for a 32 (same as Model A). They told me 4-8 weeks before it ships, in return I told them I need it within two...
