Orcas is a pretty nice place; my ex-Boss had a beautiful house, and hangar over there. I flew in lots of times to work on aircraft. However, I don't think I could afford to live there now...

Yes, you'll pay a lot more than that for good bearings. I ordered a set from Carpenter; one was made in India, the other China. They're both still on the shelf...

Front SKF 6208, Rear SKF 6306.

Use the snap rings from the old bearings as modern ones are too thin and will allow the shafts and bearings to move in the housing.

Speed Bleeders work great, at least in my opinion. Put some teflon tape or paste on the threads when you install them and bleed away...

I had one like that; just CAREFULLY heated the metal shaft to the point that I could rotate the plastic knob 180. Let it cool and all is well...

And you may have clearance issues under the cluster gear causing problems installing the main drive gear... but that is fixable.

Those are a nice unit! We had a couple of them at the museum which would have worked for loading ordnance on the center line of the Skyraider but never used them.

Which is what mine did... you have to get the bends in it or it won't fit correctly. Kind of a pain in the a** to make it work.
