Re: Lightswitch malfunction

Many thanks at all!
I will translate now the reference from Joe more precisely and print out the pin sketches. Tomorrow I will remove the switch (4th time) again and check it step by step.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank

I think the idea is not bad. Only the cooler is filled. Any water that expands when heated runs into the expansion tank. When cooling, the cooler sucks the water back out of the expansion tank.

Re: Lightswitch malfunction

Thank you very much for the help so far!

Joe, it's the 3-contact switch. The car used to be converted to a double light bulb (no difference to be seen). No housing markings to be seen.

Re: Marvel's Mystery Oil

Yes, MMO is not shopping everywhere because of "questionable" ingredients. It is no longer imported in Germany. I picked up the last 3 gallons in Belgium.

Lightswitch malfunction

Guten Tag!

I have a problem with the light switch. It does not click into place properly. The parking light only works if I hold the steering wheel lever left against it.

I used the copper...

Guten Tag!
The overflow cylinder has now been installed. I riveted it with a square tube against the radiator mask. Looks very nice!

Re: Marvel's Mystery Oil

I use permanentely 0,5 % in the tank. But I use the vacuum-doser too.
The results are pretty, low hard ash in the combustion camber.

Re: spark plug caps

Guten Abend,
the copper caps are available here with a diameter of 12 mm (<1/2 inch). That fits. Does anyone know such caps made of brass?

Re: Gear oil

Yes Sir, that's right! Steam cylinder oils are very temperature stable and particularly thick. But here you can only buy this in 50 gal barrels.

Re: 31 Roadster Seatback

On my roadster, the backrest is nailed all around as a railing over the upholstery to the wooden frame. It is held in place by the seat cushion below. The backrest can be folded up to "fold it over"....

Re: Gear oil

Guten Abend M2M.

680 is the viscosity in mm˛ / sec. at 40 ° C. It is the thickest industrial machine gear oil you can buy here. The data 1000 or 1500 are unknown here. But the 680 is as tough as...

Hallo Randy.
No, it's an open, depressurized cylinder. One drainage tube from the bottom and one to the top for pressure equalization.

You don't must to have it. But it looks nice and...

Re: Removed engine; some improvements?

Guten Abend Ken.
That's modern iridium spark plugs with adapters. NGK BPR 5 EiX. Best for cold start idle and a little bit less consumption.

Re: Removed engine; some improvements?

Hallo Russ!
It looks good! But I only drove 1/2 mile. Without a seat, without the hood, no headlights, no license plate. Our policemen are not amused by something like that ...

Re: Hot water heat?

Guten Tag David.

I did this on my 11 CV 10 years ago. It works very well. The continuous flow heater has 3000 watts. After 20 minutes I have a block temperature of + 40 - 50 ° C.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank

Would someone please show me how to install the cooling water compensating cylinder? I thought it was screwed between the radiator and the mask frame. But that's wrong.

Thanks in advance!
