Putting a new bug screen in 33-34 horns

I want to put new screens in the opening of my 34 Ford horns. What technique works such that the screen edges will not scratch the horn surface when you are putting it in?

Dave Tatom has done dyno runs on a blown flathead he races at Bonneville. He is in Mt Vernon, WA, and tests his flatheads, as well as other engines, in Renton, as I recall.
