Re: Rewiring . . . What would you do different?

I think I would just buy a wiring harness from one of the suppliers and be done with it. I have never had a problem with a stock wiring harness. They are correct the right color and go to the right...

Re: Positive Ground

With the voltage meter turned to voltage testing, you would turn the light switch on, then ground the red probe to ground, headlamp bucket or bolt, then hold the black probe to the end of the wire...

Re: 1931 Roadster

A 1931 Deluxe Roadster did not actually come with a welled fender in 1931. The luggage rack and automatic welled fender was dropped in 1931. You could still have a welled fender installed, but did...

Re: 1931 Roadster

There really wasn't a "custom" Roadster, they came standard and deluxe.

Re: My model A wont go faster than 40-45

I would probably check for a nice steady, consistent flow of fuel to the carburetor. Try opening up the GAV on the carburetor and see if that picks up speed. May be running to lean on that.

Re: Condenser Replacement

I think most of the main suppliers carry that condenser. Brattons main condenser says burn proof in the description. I think the others carry that one also.

Re: Newbie '29 Speedster project, the good the bad and even the ugly (maybe)

Jamie,
If you want speedsters galore, Google NW Vintage Speedsters, and you will get all kinds of ideas of what people have done.

Re: Replacing Wood In a '30 Blindback

There are three wood providers listed in the "sticky" at the top of our forum. I am sure they would be willing to answer kit/ cost/ questions with you. Not for a 4 door, but I have worked with...

Re: Rearching brake shoes.

Well I have seen it done with a mallet and a press, to change the arc of the shoe. They came out perfect, We went around between the lining, and the drum with a feeler gauge. Perfect fit. ...

Re: Stainless Steel Repair & Interior Question

The interior was the gray check combination, for a 31 Standard Tudor. Classtique has the kit available, I am guessing he is pretty busy now, with LB closing.

Re: Windshield frame to hinge seal

It will be interesting to see if the windshield clears the gas cap once everything is installed. The clearance is pretty close anyway and an additional layer of steel has been introduced, not sure...

There is nothing in that area of the frame. Just the rubber hinge gasket as pictured in your diagram above.

Re: ORIGINAL Standard Hardware needed (nuts)

Steve, try Don Turley, he bought most of Will's nut and bolt supply. I don't have a phone number for him, but he used to post on the Ford Barn.

Re: frame change

Re: when was the first 1930 model A made?

Your build date is probably the engine number and as Lindy mentioned, and in the Restoration Guideline there is up to a 90 day variance on the engine being installed. In your case the engine could...
