Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
I hope that not everyone feels the way you do about me getting help with my "A" so I can sell it. If so, then I didn't intend to treat this forum in this manner. I was only trying to get help so I...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
When I unhooked the line on the carburetor, I saw that I could just pull the other end right out of the screw that should have held it tight. So, I put the line back into the nut and kept tightening...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
It's not the snap off kind. It's loose on the line. (both ends) I just can't think why it won't tighten into the fuel bowl or the carburetor and not leak. Maybe it's designed and then manufactured in...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
I'll try the dental floss if I can't get it tight enough. The piece looks like a piece of pot metal, so I'm afraid to tighten it until it doesn't leak. I'll keep trying, or get some of the wife's...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
OK, here's what I've got so far. I could not always get 6 volts at the points, so I put some electrical tape on the bottom and the side of the points screw and made sure there was no cross-connection...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
OK, here's what I found out. I did not have any spark with the points. I checked the wire under the points plate and that wire was contacting the distributor body and the points plate. I checked...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
Thanks to everyone that gave me some advice. I'll get a set of points and condenser today and try it. IT's 2:30AM so it'll be a few hours before the store owners get up for the day. Again, thank you...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
If I can't check the pulse coming out of the coil unless it's connected to the distributor, then your fixes could get spark to my plugs. I'll wait for your answers. Again, thank you both for giving...

Re: 1928 no spark out of coil
OK, can you tell me how gapping the points will get a pulse to come out of the coil? I don't need to do anything with the points if there is no pulse getting to them, right? Or, did i miss something?...

1928 no spark out of coil
I'm having a tough time trying to get my '28 started, and have looked at many things. I do have 6 volts going to the positive side of the coil when not cranking the motor over. I get 4.11 volts on...
