Re: 52 Flathead crankshaft end play

I've never seen one drilled with 2 drillings from the factory. You can have a machine shop make a proper pilot bearing out of "oilite" material so it will clear the input shaft.

Re: nasty odor

Coolant level has nothing to do with the engine stopping when you slow down.

Re: Running cooler - does this make sense?

Going back to my engineering days, any fluid dynamics text book will say that heat rejection is a direct function of flow rate. More flow equals more heat rejection.

Re: The 1BA block Mystery What's the Story ?

I think the 1BA is cast in the valve chamber by the fuel pump push rod.

Re: 21 study cylinder head differences

Both are for flat top pistons. From just looking at the pictures, I'd say the on the right (or on the top in the above post) has the smallest chamber, so highest comp. ratio

Re: 81A Big A Heads

That edge recession is one reason I do not like the Sealed Power pistons. I don't know what's the reasoning is that design.

Re: Total resistance for ignition coil 12 volt system

With the low primary resistance the coil will become quite hot to the touch.

Re: Friday The 13th - Oregon & California Are Burning

Re: My 34 Won't Start

What voltage do you have at the coil when the engine is cranking? If it drops much below 10 volts, the ignition will not fire. Either the battery needs to be charged or you have too much resistance...
