Re: Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

Oh, I’d love a tractor! The wife and I are looking to move out of the city, so it’s not in the cards this year... but someday!

I went ahead and tried the plow. The concept worked, but needs...

Re: Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

I only have a push mower. The leaf blower thing might be a good thing to try though.

I’m trying it out. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I love learning and experimenting....

Re: Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

I’m not thinking any major plowing. Just a couple inches deep, down and up the driveway; before it gets packed down by the other cars driving on it.

My Tudor has the AA transmission installed, so...

Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

In an effort to save my back this year, I bought an ATV snow plow/pusher/blade in hopes to mount it to the Tudor to clear the driveway. The blade came with its original mounting rig. I’d like to see...

Re: AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

It appears so. I’m working on dealing with some gremlins inside the handle itself now, but am also trying to figure the linkage out. The car didn’t come with a handle or linkage when I bought it....

Re: AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

Now that I have the correct 18 3/4” rod, the transmission case is too fat for the rod to go straight. It’s the right length, but the cross shaft mount point is too far to the drivers side to be...

Same photos with some different color/light editing for better clarity.

Not sure what the “arm” is for, but it’s not in the way. Just curious about it.

Re: AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

Thanks, Bob and 1955. That gives me a nice starting point.

I used to own an AA with a PTO before I bought this Tudor. The extra piece wasn’t on that one.

AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

I bought a 30 Tudor that has a 4-speed transmission installed. I’m wondering if anybody knows what length of rod do I need from the emergency brake handle to the cross shaft (or at least, how do I...

Re: hand brake rebuild

Macs has them on eBay. Look for Model A Ford Emergency Hand Brake Rod Spring, part number 28-22382-1. $1.25 plus shipping. I found one at a hardware store that worked, but at least I had a backup...

Re: Model A Tire Gauge

I just picked up an original gauge. I haven’t tested its accuracy yet. The face looks alright, but the lens is pretty hard to see through. I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if it’s...

Re: My steering box blew up!

I found another box at a junkyard. All is well! Now to make sure the oil is filled all the way. I've been busy day and night all week. Where do I check/fill? I've heard to use SAE 90 or straight STP....

My steering box blew up!

Ok. Not entirely accurate, however the lower bearing burst out the bottom end of the box... and now I have a 64 Galaxie that is no longer a daily driver.

Can I just get a new bearing, set it in...

Re: Old wives tail about tires, true or not?

Thanks! Good info!

AnthonyG, when storing tires indoors that are mounted on a wheel, would you suggest removing the valve stems for better flexibility or keeping them inflated? Racked or stacked?

Re: Factory 4-speed in 30 Tudor?

Awesome, FullRace! Great info! I'd love to hear more about how people use their 4-speeds in cars and what their setups are. It's also nice to hear that I'm not the only one searching for information...

Re: Old wives tail about tires, true or not?

The problem is that I have only 3 old tire/tube combinations that hold air. Stems are bad on the other two. I'm not planning on trips to the corner store or anything until I get new tires, but...

Re: Old wives tail about tires, true or not?

How about putting new tubes in cracked tires? I just want to move the car in and out of the garage and maybe a little on the streets around the house while I'm budgeting for new tires. I don't want...

Re: Factory 4-speed in 30 Tudor?

Yeah, it has a PTO spot. Spent today (in the low 20's!) replacing wiring and such. Brr! And the joys of finding more things that need replacing.

Bill, there's no tow hook, but it does have a...

Factory 4-speed in 30 Tudor?

I recently bought a 30 Tudor that was advertised as a possible police car. It has a spotlight and (I'm told) a 4-speed transmission. I haven't driven it outside of the driveway yet because I need to...
