I sent my Helmet to Alabama to fine tune the distributor and want to leave my approval if I may for a great job . The 40’ Flathead come to life and runs smooth

Sun Distributor Machine Helmet

Who here on the Barn can spin my 40’ Helmet distributor . previous owner cleaned up the helmet and installed new points and Condenser.Points gaped At .16 but would like to have someone spin on machine

You need to polish all the grove or marks in the surface also polish the ends of each leaf
So it doesn’t dig in the leaf below

I did some horse trading for a 40' V8 . The Disturbutor (Helmet) was missing the coil. My buddy gave me a stock Ford one . He also told me that there a repop adaptor to be able to use a modern coil ....

I used hand me down 8BA crank , rods on my last 59 ab overhaul . They all came out of one motor . The block was given to me and I lucked out . Use 5 over ford piston and case iron ring . Replaced all...

I slide oversize nut on the stud then welded before the stud broke off . If stud is broken like Vic Stuff said different operation. I used 8ba bolts for final assembly

Install cluster gear with thust washers but don’t install the cluster shaft . Lay transmission on side . 28 tooth fit with no mod,s to case . 29 tooth I had to polish inside bottom of the case

I have a 40' and haven't take the head off yet but the pencil stays on lip without falling .
