That is voltage equal current times resistance.
A heavier cable is needed to carry more current. At a higher voltage you need less current to flow so you can get away with thinner wires....

I have seen some leakless pumps start leaking. It is easy enough to have a leakless pump also with the original type seal. Seems like the best solution in my book. Have it all packed and ready to go...

Two thoughts..

First as mentioned, the heat cycling and the type of metal used for a lock washer would not work.

Second, not needed. I would guess that Ford used tight tolerance threading here...

If you are driving you car without shocks and it feels safe above 25 MPH then you need to think about your springs first. Either they are wore out (front spring) or not lubricated very good.
