Re: License Plate Letters

I tried rolling, brushing and even blotting. Paint to thin or to thick. Finally did what Dan/Kzo said. Primed and shot 4 or 5 coats of numeral color, followed by 1 good coat of background color. Let...

Re: Flint Mi.Membership Meet and Water Situation.

I live in Davison, Michigan 10 miles east of Flint. The water problems are in the city of Flint, not the suburbs!
When the State made Flint change from Detroit (Lake Huron) water to Flint River...

Re: Fender mount parking lights

Fender mounted parking lights were made for the foreign market, IMO. British and most European cars had fender mounted parking lights.

Re: Deluxe Phaeton , 1930

You're right 'Roadster62', the top appears to have been installed improperly. The main rear bow is tipped too far forward. Notice the body sheet metal pushing against top material at rear. Also the...

Re: Model A title information

A2325149 (Sept 1929) is the correct engine-serial number for your truck. The other numbers are for the Sec. of State use and have nothing to do with your truck.

Re: Original 30 -31 Brass Dash

Maybe the 'B' was used to designate brass during and after the plating process. Once they were plated, it would be easier to tell the difference between a brass and steel panel.
The J.S. state...

Re: water leak in exh port

I had a '89 Cadillac that had a leaking head gasket, dealer said $1800 to replace head gaskets. Said I'd wait and check it out more. At home looking at the engine, I noticed a caution sticker on the...

Re: 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's CAR COLLECTION

What is the three window coupe? Reminds me of the 1936 Olds my parents had when I was young.

Re: the history of your car ???????

My 1929 Standard coupe was built in Indianapolis, Ind. and spent its first 36 years in Joplin, Missouri. The original owners son brought it to Michigan and I bought it in 1966 when he was moving to...
