The original induction -style guage on my 52 merc was broken but it had an aftermarket guage under the dash. I was able to remove the faceplate on the original gauge and install it on the aftermarket...

I never knew some flatheads used cotter (split)pins on rod nuts and safety wire on mains. Must be for industrial applications? However, my experience has only been with the later 49-53 engines.

Also check if they are the same maufacturer. I have a Stewart- Warner made speedo in my 51 (early circle pointer) and a spare King-Seely made later speedo. Not sure if these two speedos use the same...

It uses 2 rollers that ride on fwd and aft tracks at the bottom of the window. You pretty much have to remove the wing window (if at front) and possibly remove the regulator to get them to slide out....

I had a 55 F100 that had the same setup. Someone mounted a 50 Ford car heater. It worked ok until I found a stock heater.
