Good suggestion Kurt ,he might also consider a spot of Mig weld on the back of the thrust side pin to shank its less likely to alter the Molecular structure of a HT pin due prolong heat .

Use a small punch or a sharp screw driver and punch one side of it on a angle and collapse it ,reshape it later by using a ball peen and a socket as a anvil ,grind the edges to refit it ,

As I posted on steves post this seat channel is ideal you could possibly use a uncut length from a 34 seat or some other year ,if the compressed paper needs replacing I recommend Urethane windscreen...

This is a 34 sedan seat tack strip from the top that could be used ,with a new inner ,I cut it 2" from the end to bend to shape .perhaps Steves leather could used .Ted

No you cant use these ,I was talking to my Son and he said these are the ones we removed as they dont have a properly Machined supporting top for the bearing to run on ,, Ted ,

Dan ,Not to upstage , but Some time ago we had to replace King pins in this 34 with 48 backing plates I remember going back to the supplier to swape the new pins for ones that had the Cotter / lock...
