Re: Electric fuel pumps...

I had a Holley 390 on an Offy intake on my '39, and electric fuel pump only. I also had a fuel pressure gauge inside the car. Yes, I know that's a no no, but with stainless AN plumbing, I never had...

Very nice job, Tommy. And, generous of you to offer old parts for just shipping costs in early post above....guessing they will have great value for someone on here.

Just curious, but what kind...

Re: Same question, different approach-pictorial

I'm a fan of both JB Weld and Gorilla gel super glue. I'd be going with 51 MERC's suggestions.....out on the bench to wire wheel and then acetone clean, followed by the gel super glue! JMO.

Re: 1947 clock not working

The clock is my '47 wasn't working either, and as Tubman said above, sometimes all that is needed is a good cleaning. Mine is a windup that only runs for 24 hours.

I took it out, cleaned it...

Re: White wall care

chiefdave, those Cokers are probably about 20 years old, given the manufacture date on the side wall. I've always been told that tires have a "shelf life" in addition to mileage.

Do you have any...

Re: 1947 Super Deluxe Front Axle Bumpers

Thank you, 19Fordy, I got the 7/16 stud bumpers from C&G. I'll call Joe or Kyle tomorrow to see what they say.

And, Barnfind, thank you for locating the NOS ones that are 3/8 x 24.

Re: side view mirror

I,...

Cool 1947 Super Deluxe Front Axle Bumpers

I want to replace the front axle bumpers which I think are original. The bolt stud is 3/8 and the thread count is 24. Replacement bumpers have a 7/16 stud with a 20 thread count. The nut, I...

Re: 1947 convertible

I can't speak for Skip, but I have several of his coils and I don't think he would include a resistor, knowing that the external one was/is standard in that metal box under the dash. You did the...

Re: 1947 convertible

Yes, remote on the coil and the distributor cap is the "rabbit ears" unless switched to a crab. I'm betting on the coil and or condenser, particularly to J. Seery's question above if it starts once...
