I have a 1933 Simmons catalog and the pot metal carb is not listed. Late 30's up to maybe late 40's. Is what I'm guessing on when the pot metal carb became available.......:confused:

old31, The caps (1/2" copper pipe end caps) came from a plumbing supply store. Most all hardware stores...

I contacted Bratton's about the brass plugs. They said the individual who was making them passed away and the punch/dies used to make them were lost. Not enough demand to make anymore tools needed...

For my two Harley's I mix 110 octane leaded racing gas with 90 octane non-ethanol gas. It does make a difference, but you do have to be careful to not add to much of the racing gas. ;)
