Re: Kangaroo fuel.

I don't know what RHD linkage looks like, but it may be a lever upside down.

I think the vendors sell the coils preassembled for 12V.

Re: Gauge Wire

The current will double at 12V unless the starter is converted. Technically, the cable ampacity should also be doubled to accommodate the increased current. However, due to the intermittent nature...

Re: Body Mounting Bolts

I assume you're referring to the four "carriage" bolts next to the floorboard. Mick Isbell's hardware reference shows A-20922 as a 3/8-24 x 2-1/4 carriage bolt, which is a contradiction, since...

Re: Cowl Light mounting bracket

The cowl reinforcement bar was in all A's, the hole was added at some point to better accommodate installation of the cowl light as an option. There are/were templates available to correctly...

Re: Generator cutout wiring hookup pictures.

Both harnesses connect to the BATT side of your cutout. ARM connects to the armature through the insulated stud. As connected in the photo, the battery will run flat in a short time.

Re: wiring

There are two main harnesses available, depending on your car being equipped with cowl lights or with parking lights in the headlights. This harness connects the lighting switch between generator...

Re: Head light focusing procedure

The pics are from the Model A instruction book (owner's manual). Beam height is 33" for 28-29, 37" for 30-31 to agree with headlight center height.

Re: Looking for LED replacement bulbs for tail and cowl lights

I ordered 2 of those in 'warm' white for the taillights. Had a pair of bright white before, but fewer SMD chips. Didn't look right to me. Warm white is supposed to mimic incandescent light. ...

Re: Current 6 Volt Positive Ground Turn Signal Recommendation

IIRC, if you have electro-tech, holding the switch to the right for four flashes starts the 4-way. Other direction toggles the beep.

Re: Current 6 Volt Positive Ground Turn Signal Recommendation

Check your existing setup. With a toggle switch you may already have the Electro-tech control. If so, you would need their column switch.

Re: Headlight amperage

You're right, chicken/egg. Wire size is determined by current draw. Most A wiring is 16 AWG; ampacity of 16 gauge wire is 10 amps. Wires from generator to lighting switch and through ammeter to...

Re: Generator vs Alternator

If most of the silver is still present you can use Medallion or Nushine silver solution to restore the original finish. They claim it will plate brass directly, but the result is pretty orange. If...

Re: Generator vs Alternator

The original headlights were equipped with 21/21 CP bulbs (high/low) - about 3 amps each. 50 CP bulbs pull about twice that, which with the other loads exceeds the rated capacity of the generator, 12...

Re: 31 Victoria Ampere Meter

"Ammeter" is the correct term, but since it's a shortened version of "ampere meter" I see nothing much wrong with "amp meter". Just sounds a little odd to those of us who use the term often in our...

Re: 31 Victoria Ampere Meter

Make sure it's a 20-amp meter. With alternator and new battery a larger capacity ammeter may not provide enough deflection to notice 1-2 amps charge.
