Denver, CO area goose chase

I admit this is a bit of a wild goose chase, but if any group of people could pull it off, it's a group of car folks. :)

I am researching a car that was purchased from Denver approximately four or...

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

I love the look of the stainless an awful lot, as well. Besides, I need something to match those pricey old bumper bolts. :) I can always keep an eye out for another pair of painted lights.

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

Rounded up some headlights and bumper brackets. This car would have had painted headlight buckets originally, so I may end up painting them. I still need to find some old mounting hardware to...

'32 bumper brackets

I'm needing front bumper brackets for my '32 woodie. Are they the same as car and truck brackets? thanks

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

Did a dry fit of the passenger side today. Nice to see the actual shape of the car for the first time. :)

Re: '32 woodie - holes in cowl

Just great, David! :) Now I want one of those! I guess I'll settle for the aftermarket one until then. :)

Re: '32 woodie - holes in cowl

Since the antenna is not period correct for the woodie I will likely fill and paint them. HOWEVER . . . the topic got me to wondering if there were radios in 1932. The earliest models, beginning in...

Re: '32 woodie - holes in cowl

Cool. Might be fun to figure out how early they were available and find an old radio to go with it. I'll have to do some research. Obviously, I won't do anything to compromise the woodie's...

Re: '32 woodie - holes in cowl

I'd love to see a pic of one of those antennas, if anyone has one. Was this a period aftermarket piece? Dealer installed? Or are we talking something much later? Thanks so much for the replies.

Re: '32 woodie - holes in cowl

I assumed spare tire at first, but the bracket only appears to attach to the frame and to two smaller holes near the front edge of the cowl.

'32 woodie - holes in cowl

Hello, all. I'm wondering what these holes are for? They are cleanly cut and appear original, yet I haven't seen them on other '32s. Please remember, I'm a novice . . . so if the answer is...

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

Well, there's still a looooong way to go . . . but I'm starting to get a feel for how it's going to come together. Still hunting parts, so please keep that in mind. I have a wish list on the swap...

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

I totally appreciate your thoughts on this. To be honest, I really haven't put much thought into the final coat. My reference to satin was basically me saying "not glossy." :-) I definitely want...

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

You are correct about the car being in primer. The fenders are still in primer, actually. As for the rest of it, I need any professional painters in the crowd to please not be offended by my...

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

That's actually worth quite a lot. A little encouragement can only help with something like this :)

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

I feel very grateful, for sure. Credit goes to the previous owner who had the wisdom to hang onto them. They are the guiding force to my decisions. Whatever part I'm sourcing or redoing will need...

Re: '32 Woodie "survivoration" project

I found some nice original paint on the backside of a hinge. It is the Manilla Brown, suggesting the wagon was an earlier production using leftover '31 paint. BTW, a huge shout out to DavidG for...
