we use the napa rr175 (never seen a bad one ) those on those conversions are terrible !!

Using a dwell meter hooked up to point contacts , adjust while cranking engine to spec . I believe its 28 degrees.
Understand dwell is a "average" of all eight cam lobes etc and represents the time...

Ronnie , I agree with your posts etc , but i said nothing "wrong" in my reply! Its not that pertronixs makes a bad coil , its the issue with using the wrong coil for the application !!!

I dont suggest using a pertronixs coil on any ignition , (including the pertronixs)
and theres a good reason !!!
It is very easy to use the wrong coil on your system , not just pertronixz but...

I would suggest using the Bosch Blue # 00012 coil, best and have never seen a bad one....

Its not impossible to make a helmet run more rpm , especially the later version model 68s or 11 A , The advance curve was quick and topped out at 22 degrees etc. The use of individual contacts helped...

Thats kinda why i asked, it would take a very very very special helmet distributor to run anywhere close to 7500 rpm.:eek::eek:

And that was the discussion regarding a helmet distributor for a 60....

Rebuilds less cap and rotor on the crabs run $250, Helmets minus side plastics and coil runs $250 as well. Loadamatics 49-53 also run $250 but include new vac unit, cap and rotor.....

We warranty all our rebuilds for life . If we build it and it ever has a problem send it back for a check and repair. I charge $25 for return shipping and will call if it something other than normal...

Been a few days watching this thread and we all went for the low compression, cam shaft etc. Looks like all is fine there so far . Lets look at the miss fire issue for a minute ........:eek:
