We own a Murrays, too. And our car misses the upper door seals as well. I juts bought them at Snyders and plan to install them next winter time.

release completely the actuation rod. If there is too much tension o the rod, this might also press the plates on the drum and does not allow to release the adjustment.

i took the original chrome plated parts and blasted VERY carefully. Apprx. 5s on a certain spot, then the surface turned matt. I am pretty sure not to have injured the closed chrome...
