Bumper Hitch / Mullins

I plan on towing a vintage 1936/37 Mullins trailer with my 1938 Ford V8 60 Coupe. The trailer will always be lightly packed. I cannot envision any reason why I wouldn't be able to use a period...

Re: Condenser Restoration

Good, thanks! Upon further examination, that is the way they originally did it. If I am risking heat, I might as well copy Henry's method.

1. De-solder bottom of the original to uncover existing...

Re: Condenser Restoration

Although the condenser shown is for a 1935-1936, I plan to use it in my ‘38. The modern condenser I purchased is NAPA FA49. Hopefully it is not on the list of being ify.

Re: Condenser Restoration

One would think heat would be detrimental to the condenser. But yet, it appears during the original assembly a copper strap was soldered from the top of the innards to the output screw terminal (can...

Re: Condenser Restoration

Thanks for Kopr-Sheild lead. I never thought of a paste type material. I can always seal it in with an epoxy.

Further note: During assembly, it is possible to adjust the screw to place pressure...

Condenser Restoration

Here is a rough cut video of my first attempt to restore a condenser. Has anyone ever used an electrically conductive epoxy? I would like to come up with a method to ground the original cylinder to...

Key Taper Direction

In my last question, the direction of the key tapper became a topic. I went through my collection of Ford books and found this in the 1925 Ford Service Manual.

Re: Next axle, hub, key question

Next axle, hub, key question

Thanks to everyone's help the hub came off. The key on the axel is another story. It does not want to budge.

1. Can I assume it is not a press fit and it should come off.

2. And/or can I leave...
