You may find there is no number on the Australian chassis. At least I have seen them with no #. Use the body #.
U.S. codes won't help with engine #'s either.

At the cowl you can treat the 30/31 diferently to the earlier ones. Don't need to massage the chassis there.

When you register on the HAMB, use the search function to find threads about A on Deuce frames. There have been many photo how-to's over the years.

OK then. I say don't be penny wise, use the CE kit and it's a no brainer. Anyway, in the big picture it's not expensive.
