I am 6'4" and replaced my seat brackets with the extended ones and even after that moved the drivers seat ones back another 2". Still room in back seat for "small"...

The pump , if the diaphragm is sealing properly should squirt fuel out of the carb. fuel line.
Remove at the carb and place the end of the fuel line in a clear bottle. Crank the engine a few revs...

Coating cork gaskets with a very light rub of bearing grease helps to keep the pliable. My latest trick is on low temp area gaskets I spray them with cooking spray. Chap

Sounds like a battery issue to me. Since you already double checked the connections can you jump start it from a known good battery or jump start box?
I leaning towards the engine ground connection...
