AT work but there is Brothers A Wood in AZ-I think. Not dealt with them and I think there is 'Ford Wood' as well. I can get you POC for the first if you want.

My two cents to add to this are that there looks to be no mica in between the the horn 'wedges'. Great scientific/engineering term huh? So it is possible that there is arcing but I think she is due...

ok, I was just copying what came out so that is the way i though it should go back in. Will try and get it welded up tomorrow and installed.

They were 'crimped' above the cable. That is all I was trying to do-nothing to tight just enough to keep the cable in the lever.

Dave, I am sorry for the misinformation but both trannys are 57 FOM's. So it will be a straight swap over after thinking about it. Sorry it was a giant brain fart on my part.

OK, I was just crimping it as that is the way it came from the factory, so I was just putting it back to that way. Well, that is the way I took it off the axle at least. I will get it welded this...

The donor came out of a 57 fairlane but it may be a 58 if I look at the number right. And it has the same bolt up so I will plug in the original and hope it bolts up. Now that I think about this and...

Rear parking brake lever

So the left rear parking brake lever broke on me when I was crimping in the cable. Can I just either JB Weld it back together or can I have it welded up? Not sure what tensile strength JB has as far...

don't forget that the A and B motors are timed differently. Check to see if you have a B timing cover on the engine and not an A timing cover. Also, maybe check the condenser.

She is gorgeous! You can try a little 3 in 1 oil on the rods-little. They are probably gummed up down inside the column.

Standard ford V-8 oil filter for the spin on type. Ford used the same one from 57-probably current. Canister type I do t know about that one. Ford’s number I think is FL-1A.

rear spring insulators on 57 wagon

Ok, got the diff and new springs in. According to the manual it should diff, metal spacer holder, rubber spacer, spring, rubber spacer, metal spacer holder then shock pad.




Now my 57 wagon...

Ok, The front end is done except the sway bar. How the bloody hell does it go in? I put it up into position and it looks like I will have to 'bend' it a bit to get it to conform to the lower arms....

When this happened to me I just used needle nose pliers and bent the connectors out and got a snug fit.
