Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails?

Those are A rails for a two door. See the seat connections so the seat can be rotated forward to let rear seat passengers in.

I have a nice one that came of a March 1929 AA. It's the one by the door. PM me if you need it.

Early ratchet wrench fits 1928-29 AA lug nuts. Works great. About 1 3/16" to 1 1/4". Wooden handle. No markings.

where is this 29 roadster pickup?

In 1957 when I was 15 I bought a 29 roadster pickup from "behind the gas station." Instead of hotrodding it I restored it except I painted the frame white and the engine red.

It was complete...

Re: has any one used 650-19 tires from coker?

6:50x19 is what my 1927 Hudson used - 127" wheelbase, a much bigger car.

My later 1928 roadster pickup was originally blue. (Wish I still had it!)

Re: Painting Engine While IN Car

A handy tip for masking off complex things like distributors or even that oil pipe is to wrap them in aluminum foil. Much easier than tape and very effective.

Re: Frozen motor - melting out pistons

Since you've soaked it take the crankshaft out. Get a piece of wood about the size of the bore and stick it into the cylinder. A big hammer should take care of it, probably without breaking...

Re: Please point me to V8 60 info

There's remarkably little info out there on 60's - apparently Ford didn't even publish a shop manual.

Gears, bellhousings and all are different for 60's and 85's and won't hook up. You'll need...

Re: Engine Removal Photos Please

I had a thread in July 2011 describing how it was done with a plank, scissor jack and a box. It's an easy one-man job.

Re: electric fuel pump

Thanks for the tips. The thread Fordy19 mentioned was the first time this pump gave out. Followed the advice then but got a diaphragm that totally dissolved. Some good info here. Thanks.

electric fuel pump

After a long and good life ethanol ate my electric fuel pump diaphragm. It turned it to black, gooey tar.

Wondering if replacements are available. The pump has no maker's name on it. The...

Re: stovebolt

Neal Jern www.jernthunderbolt.com (http://www.jernthunderbolt.com) is apparently the one to contact about use of chebby heads on Ford 4-bangers.

Re: Dick Spadaros' Health

Dick was very helpful to me and the V8-60 and went quite a bit out of his way to do it. Very much appreciated.

A very good guy. My best to him.

stovebolt

Why do they call Chebbys stovebolts? These are ALL of the headbolts for an old Chebby. They are 1/2" coarse threads 5 1/4" and 2" long.

If you are benefiting from Ford engineering pat...

Re: Driving a LEFT Hand Brake 1928 Ford

Lots of cars of the A era had the brake on the left side. Specifically I've had a 1927 Hudson and 1930 Packard arranged that way. In addition to being in the way of your left leg it makes entrance...

Re: overhead valve Chevy for Model T

It's got one exhaust port but it's cheap. Of no use to me; I don't have a Model T.

Re: overhead valve Chevy for Model T

Here are some pix. They look the same as the "3-port Olds" which has only 2 valves per cylinder. Anyway, my old car is a Packard and these don't fit that.

The Thunderbolt web page you mention...
