Holy poop. Use a crush ring as designed or some felt/plastic ring. Leave the jd weld and permex in the top shelf of the toolbox. As Bruce used to say flatheads leaked, to oil the chassis.

So lucas oil is thicker... higher oil pressure? You can run straight 30w to do that. Friction cases heat, the thicker the oil the higher the temp... but higher gauge pressure..... High Oil pressure...

Personally I'd use a reamer. Your really not setting the axle, it's the spindles inline with the axle bearings that matter. Most any machine shop would do it in an hour. Granted if they have time.

At idle and a great vacuum, it might be in your "head". But whom knows. Maybe the front end is loose or... all guesses. How is your kingpins to steering.

Glad people are okay. Saw some limited stuff from drones. Heavy flooding and roof/building damage on the coast. Too early in the Hurricane season. But it's weather. As they say when in a foxhole......

If you think you are running hot. take the stats out. Watch the change. Then do something else. Lots of possibilities, simple things are good. infrared reader to verify, not that they are good also....

Easy way to site a motor on first glance is, three bolts down the center is a 21 bolt. 2 down the middle, 24 bolt

Sacramento ford makes them by hand. Always been good to me. Lot of people have said good things about Bauer/harris too. Guess what you are looking for. Nice to have options, Sacramento in the past...

Vacuum seems low. Getting it to around 18-20 will help with the idle. But 3x2s might be the right vacuum. Big holes in the intake system.
