thanks folks.

I looked again under the generator. Both sides of the back of the gen mount are scared, so that is what was used. It is not much of a ledge as a rounded area.

I run a '39 Pickup as well. I see the ledge and note the paint is chipped off. The space is about a screw driver handle tall. I will study again

What tool do you guys use? This is a 40MERC. The top water hoses have the metal strengtheners. I have a 20" bent screwdriver. not enough room My hoist won't get it. Crow bar wont fit. So far small...

Coil resistor

Why does the eV-8 coil need a resistor to lower the voltage to 3+volt and the Model A coil does not?

The main shaft is frozen as one peace. I'd like to remove the 7046 small snap ring and see what comes out.

I got both bearings to move out/in 1/2 inch. I'm thrilled. I washed the binding surfaces with Kroil and lots of fine rust came out. 2cycles of in/oil. I also wondered if I pounding on the right...

I feel silly out on the cold pounding on a tranny. The main shaft moved back into original position. Moved again further toward off. Will pound again in the morning. I'll get it

YAHOOOOOO!! I left the tranny out all night. The red wolf moon musta loosened the main shaft bearings. Motion about a 1/4". I rinsed the open space and will flog-on again to night. Supposed to be 9...

Yes, oil baffles sorry I used the wrong name. I have the tranny set up on short2x6" piles. I pound down on the installed U joint. NO motion either way. Set up is outside where we will get 20's wx...

No progress. Life and poor wx in the way.
I do have a ductless heater in my garage now. Wow is that effective!
Next steps is a wiring check. Snowing here and roads a mess.
