axle key

Model A friend, Bob, pulled off the rear hubs from his '29 tudor today and found that the axle keys were stamped with the Ford script logo. Do you guys think these keys were original? We can't seem...

Re: Tire changers, do you use the DIY units?

All of these Barners are giving you the straight story. I was afraid that I would mar the rims with tire irons, so I made some out of hardwood. I use Murphy's Oil Soap as a lubricant and I do them on...

Re: rear drum

Bob,
I read your original post a few days ago and wondered what the outcome would be. Glad to hear that you got your wheel off. I friend of mine is working on a '41 Plymouth and ran into the same...

Re: Alternative to anti-freeze to stop corrosion

For years I've used distilled water and Water Wetter from Autozone. This winter we had a new NAPA store open in town and I went in to see what they had. They didn't carry Water Wetter, but their...

Re: i need some help. What regulator/pump for stock carb with underbody fuel cell?

Mike,
I'm sure more people were harmed in the Pinto with the gas tank right at the rear bumper than in your average, stock Model A Ford. Last summer we raised money at our church in various ways. I...

Re: Water pump won't fit now.

We rebuilt a pump last week with parts from Snyders. In the kit it was explained that the new impeller shaft was 1/4 inch longer to take up the distance in the head from a worn boss. It said to grind...

Re: Not Model A need identification

77 Birdman,
I don't have much information about Rowe Motors, but I find that the first plant was in Martinsburg (burned out) then moved to New York City, then on to Coatesville, Pa. After out...

Re: Not Model A need identification

Thank you, 1930 coupe! There are few who know about Rowe. It seems that Uncle Sam was a good engineer but a bad businessman. He had a lot of fires!!
There is only one Rowe truck left. It's in a...

Re: Not Model A need identification

Not to hijack your post, but --- 1930 coupe, does your book list the Rowe Motor Company? My father's uncle, Sam Rowe, built Rowe trucks between 1908 and 1925 near Harrisburg, Pa. Altogether there...

Re: Installing Battery Disconnect Switch in 1931 Coupe

Originally I did what Jacksonlll wrote about. I used the fuse as a switch. There
are four little clips that hold the fuse, and in my case, one little clip broke. It took me a week to find the...

Hey, Marty in Mesa, I just had to reply to your post. The wire from the driver's headlight to the passenger's headlight is held in place by small clips at the bottom of the radiator.

Re: Ford Tri-Motor

Island Airlines in Port Clinton flew trimotors for many years and we used to go to Put-in-Bay on them. Quite a thrill! They wouldn't fly very fast and when they got over the island they just sort of...

Re: jack

I have an old, heavy scissors jack that was in my Dad's '54 Chrysler from years ago. I know it's not the correct jack for my '30 Model A but it sleeps under the seat and I hope to never use it.
