Re: Big Truck 2 Speed Rear Axle Parts

I know a mechanical linkage or converting to electric would be feasible. However, that’s not what is correct for this truck. If at all possible I’d like to make it correct. A vacuum 2-speed would be...

Re: Big Truck 2 Speed Rear Axle Parts

Good question! I may need one in the near future. I saw a NOS one on the web a while ago and the guy wanted crazy money for it.

Big Truck Brake Master Cylind

Hello,
I have a 46 Ford 1.5 ton dump truck and I need to replace the master cylinder. Does anyone have a manufacturer’s (Dorman, Wagner, etc) part number for the correct one for my truck? My local...

Re: 46 1.5 ton fan replacement

I’ll remove the genny and give it a try. Not looking forward to laying over the fenders and lifting that thing out.

46 1.5 ton fan replacement

I could use some guidance on swapping the 4 blade fan for the 6 blade on my truck with the v8 engine. Would there be enough room to wiggle the fan out after removing the genny? Also, should I use...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Not sure if Gar Wood manufactured boats but he did race them using Ford FH V8's.

Chris,
You may want to use an engine stand that supports both the front and back of your engine. Not sure if the...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Chris,
Excellent thread on your journey with the 32! I'm partial to the big trucks and especially dump trucks. I have a 46 Ford with a Gar Wood dump. Looking forward to additional post on your...

Re: 46 Ford 1.5 ton

Winner winner chicken dinner! I tightened up those nuts and it appears to have fixed the leak. Thanks for the suggest.

Re: 46 Ford 1.5 ton

Mine leaked about half a pint after I lowered the bed. Had some air bubbles also. I’m wondering if I overfilled the cylinder.

Re: 46 Ford 1.5 ton

No the piston doesn’t leak when the bed is raised which I thought was odd. I looked at a Gar Wood brochure that has a cutaway pic of my cylinder. It shows a substantial seal on the end of the piston...

Re: GB Sisson

He has been MIA over on FTE also. His profile says he was active here today and June 8 over on FTE. Hopefully just not much going on around his place and he is doing ok.

Re: 46 Ford 1.5 ton

Thanks guys! I think the 8.25x20's in the rear and the 7.50x20's front give the truck a nice stance.
Mark, are the dump bodies you have made by Gar Wood and do you have the hydraulic cylinders?...
