Re: Why do you like your car.

'29 Bronson Yellow Roadster. Love the big 21" wheels, the tiny doors, the wind wings, black wheels with narrow whitewalls, the motometer with wings, the '39 tranny with synchromesh, and having the...

Re: Rough Running - Sometimes

Thanks Vic,
Somebody else suggested that the fuel flow might cause the problem, so I'll check it out. Once I figure this out, I'll let everybody know what the fix was. Thanks.

Re: Rough Running - Sometimes

Thanks Corley,

I'll try some of your suggestions. I had thought that it could be the coil or condenser. I don't know how to check either of those things except to swap them out and see what...

Rough Running - Sometimes

I have a mystery with my '29 Roadster. It's stock 6V positive ground but with an alternator. The car runs great most of the time, but now and then it will suddenly run very rough, like it's only...

Re: Engine Number Help

I knew a guy in Arizona who bought a Model A in Washington and had a similar problem when trying to register the car in AZ. The Washington title used the frame number, but the engine had been...

Re: Electronic ignition kit for model a

I've run a '29 Tudor Sedan for over 12 years with a Pertronix ignition with absolutely no problems. 12V, negative ground.

I've also run a '29 Roadster for over 12 years with a stock ignition...

Re: Question

Look at the top of the side windows. When I was in the Navy, my commanding officer was Commander Briggs. Very straight laced, no-nonsense kind of man. A friend of mine had a cat named Murray. ...

Re: Tire Life.

I have 10,000 miles on a set of 21" Firestones, and they have lots of tread left. They should make it to around 15,000.

Regarding modern tires on modern cars, I got 89,000 miles from a set of...

Re: What is your average speed

40-45, like most of the others. Now and then 52 on a straight and level road.

Re: Big mystery finally solved...and who deserves the prize?

I think that we all won the prize by following your mystery and then finding out what the problem was. This may help any one of us who has a similar problem in the future. Thanks!

Re: my new model a coupe

Nice! You know, if the mechanicals are ok, I would leave it just as it is! Best wishes.

Re: slippery wind wings

I'll second the double-sided tape idea. My windwings almost came off twice, then I tried the tape and no problems since.

Re: Buying a car sight unseen...

I bought a '29 Tudor in Greyland, WA, sight unseen, but I did have a good report on it from a Model A friend. And I got to see a few photos. It actually turned out to be a better car than I...

Re: Sticking starter swtich

I've done the same thing as Sparky said. The spring seems to get weaker over time, and now and then needs to be bent back a little.

Re: Fuse Blows with Headlights On

I did something similar to what Jeff/Illinois did. I made a connection inside the headlight bucket while leaving all the outside parts stock. Looks original, but it solved the shorting problem.

I bought my '29 Tudor already restored, from a gentleman in Grayland, WA. He had the engine rebuilt by Antique Auto Ranch in Spokane, but I have little knowledge of how extensive the rebuild was.

Re: Water temp?

140 to 160, depending on weather and whether I'm driving along or idling in traffic. Running straight water. Have never seen it go above 165.
