If piston & rings other than the hole is Ok as well as the bore not damaged in the cylinder of that piston it can be tig welded. Just don’t sand blast or grind the hole. Use a metal burr to clean up...

Not an issue X2. Several reasons it’s not. The crack doesn’t break out at the fuel intake ports or the edge of seating surface, so even if it does enter the surface deep enough to break into exhaust...

Is Hylomar hard to clean on part removal. Seems with a lot of the stuff used to seal gaskets becomes a real PIA to get off when prepping for new part install.

All SS will show som surface rust if not cleaned & passivated. Tig welding with correct weld rod / wire on stainless trim is the way to go. Aggressive Cleaning including passivation before & after...
