Re: Gear ratio on rearend

Re: Mid atlantic model T meet 6 and 7 October in Luray, VA

I was there this morning......about 40 or so vendors, mostly Model T (of course!), small bit of V-8 stuff, small crowd. Was done in about an hour....might go back Wednesday to see if more vendors...

Re: Rear Axle Taper - What It Does

Re: Gas Tank Fuel Gauge reading question

The accuracy of the 80 year old technology in that gauge is significantly less than the measurable difference in the float levels with those specific liquids.

Re: how many tie rod turns equates to 1/16 inch toe in change ?

Interesting question, but it is not the correct one if you are looking for the correct method to adjust toe-in/toe-out. Depending on the actual toe-in/toe-out on the car, you need to rotate the tie...

Re: Hydraulic Brake Light Switch

Before you finalize your choice of MC.....I used a BOSS 429 MC (15/16" bore) on my '40 coupe (disc fronts).......I had to "section" the cover to clear the floorboard.....also had to lengthen the push...

Re: Toe-In Lesson Learned

I did mine with a tape measure, then put it on a 4-wheel laser machine......the old way was right on the money.

Re: No Oil Pressure in 8BA

Good lesson in this thread....I pull apart every engine.....new crates as well as previously owned/run. That's the only way to know what you have. There are usually a few surprises in every...

Re: Best source for glass?

I got glass pieces from a junk yard and cut my own. Used the old pieces as patterns. Not difficult to do.

I did this swap (many years ago) and found it to be quite easy and straight forward. I bought a parts car and simply swapped over all the needed parts, and...

Re: PERTRONIX Ignitor Ignition 1940 ford Helmet Dist

The Pertronix techs used to say to not use their Ignitor with a generator.....to much "noise" from the brushes and voltage spikes would blow it out.....maybe they made some electronics changes?......
