Re: 354 Ring an Pinion

Your car will go 65 mph all day as it is. If you want to cruise faster, go for it.
If you add a 7 to 1 head and a touring cam you will be enjoying as much fun driving as can be had with your clothes...

Re: How to grease leaf springs?

Grease is not a good long term lube for leaf springs, even if the spring has a cover or is wrapped.
When grease gets old it dries out and loses most of it's lube properties.
It is almost impossible...

Re: Best riding A?

It is not easy or cheap to get a soft ride in a model A but it CAN be done.
First you need to diddle with the springs to get 100 lb. per inch rate on both front and back.
THEN you diddle with the...

Re: stock NOS fomoco valve springs on a 236 @.050 .355 lift cam

If you can shim the NOS springs up to 50lb on the seat without coil binding, you should be ok.

You are on your own with the cam.

Re: counterbalanced crank welds

The answer to the test question is:
At 48 million rpm, the .200 inch diameter steel ball bearing vaporized.
It was levitated in a vacuum in a magnetic field and rotated by an RF signal applied to a...

Re: counterbalanced crank welds

If you knew the minimum weld that would hold the weight WITHOUT any bolts, you would be surprised.

Re: high conpression head ??

Yes. I have seen a few in magazines or advertising. They are usually based on a stock a displacement engine but there have been a few based on various oversize engines.

Re: One Fast Flathead

Oh, I forgot to mention the next "up" blower would be a centrifugal.
More out for less in.

Re: One Fast Flathead

The next size up blower would help greatly.
Dry sump.
Bigger fuel.
Ports like Ron Main did.
And several other things I won't mention.

Re: One Fast Flathead

Re: Ecklers hydraulic brake conversion kit

I used a Wilwood kit. Complete bolt on for the wheel parts. Hand brake kit also.

Re: Why is there a need for an Adjustable Drag Link?

If you are talking about a stock model A, there is no reason for an adjustable drag link unless something is bent.

If you are modifying the steering in ANY manner, you just have to engineer...
