Re: Canvas Sport Coupe Top

Our first re-topping was an L-B kit. Maybe the car gods were watching as it turned out really nice for an amateur job. We took our time and figured out where and how everything fit before...

Re: Canvas Sport Coupe Top

And yet many are incorrectly installed - just ask Mr Google for pix. Like you say, easy fix.

Being a former Sport Coupe owner (and wishing I still was), this is a pet peeve - just doesn't look...

Re: Canvas Sport Coupe Top

Not dissing your car but if that's it in your avatar, the landau irons are incorrectly installed. The passenger side should look like a letter S with the fake center knob toward the rear of the car....

Re: 1932 Roadster

Yup. Model A parts houses have them or at least used to - cheap and sometimes thrown in free when other stuff is ordered. The one in the OP is screwed on but they come with drive rivets. They do...

Re: 1931 Model A Serial Number

Like many states, Florida requires VIN verification to title a car from out of state. If you have a car from Florida with no number and a Maryland title, that may be why it was never titled in FL. ...

Re: So much for Irish Spring and Dryer Sheets.....

Mothballs always work for me - course the car has to be aired out when it comes out of storage. I also put some pellets under the car just for good measure.

When our house was being built, mice...

Re: 1936 Pickup High beam indicator light

And another thought...there was less traffic so less need to switch between high and low beams. Having driven both, the foot switch is a lot easier to manipulate while using both hands to steer. ...

Re: Model A Luggage Trunk?

Yelp reports Malm Luggage (presumably the successor to W. R. Malm) in S. F. is closed. There is a review from about 12 years ago, so they still must have been in business at least that recently.

Re: Barrett Jackson

Paperwork notwithstanding and based only on listing pictures, the OP car looks comparable to the red one also linked in this thread. The latter car is more hot-roddy but it's still flathead powered....

Re: New gasket for 1930 radiator cap question....

I had a repro quail on which the fiber gasket was too thin so the cap rattled. I got a rubber O-ring of the right diameter at the hardware store - no more problem.

Re: Cleaning a Phaeton top ??

Never cleaned a phaeton top but I've used Tuff Stuff with good results on upholstery, etc - YMMV and of course test first. It's available at Wally-World and just about everywhere else.

No matter...

Re: Spare Wheel and Tire Lock

Re: Mind Your Own Business Coupes

Original brochures show a Business Coupe in 1954 – course that’s not in the flathead era. There is a Business Sedan in 1955 and 56. After that, the Business model appears to have been dropped.

Re: Mind Your Own Business Coupes
