Re: Bolt remover socket
This. Impacts knock the nut/bolt loose... and is FAR more effective than simply pulling on a breaker bar.
If the head is rounded off, sometimes a similar metric socket, especially a 6-point...

Re: Changed The Weight Of My Oil
15w40 diesel oil is pretty good stuff. It has plenty of additives for long engine life, and should be thick enough to allow your engine to run quietly... without being too thick for warm up. I...

Re: 4 post lifts
2 post is best for actually working on cars. Most of what you work on is brakes/suspension, etc... which requires wheels to be removed. With a 4 post, the wheels are on the ground. Even if you do...

Re: Bolt remover socket
What size is it? Sometimes you can pound on a metric socket that is just a tad smaller. Have you tried a 6 point socket? Impact wrenches are FAR more successful at busting loose stubborn...

That's weird. It put the same Youtube address for these as it did for the mechanical torque wrench. Here are the updated web addresses.

Re: DOT3 or DOT5 Brake fluid
DOT 5 is a silicone based fluid, and is not compatible with DOT 3... so the system needs to be COMPLETELY flushed in order to make the switch.
DOT 4 is basically Synthetic DOT 3, and is...

Re: Engine Break In
Running it in without a load for too long will keep the rings from properly seating. They need the heat/cylinder pressure to properly break in, and not just glaze over. Improper break in on the...

Engine Break In
This came up in another thread, but thought it deserved a wider audience, as it applies to much more than the scope of that thread. This is a comprehensive post about break in. Ring seal is BIG. Lake...

Re: PennGrade Motor Oil
Best break in oil right now is Driven from Joe Gibbs racing. Their BR40 is a 10w40 break in oil that costs around $8/qt, and comes highly recommended. Another very good break in oil at a good price...

Re: Transmission oil
GL-5 is supposed to be harder on bronze/yellow metals. GL-4 is supposed to be safe. GL-1 does not have the extreme pressure additives, and does not protect as well as the more modern oils.

Re: Women buy shoes: Guys buy toys[old Fords]
This car has FAR more class than a 350 SBC with a 350 Turbo Automatic trans in a generic street rod! It's actually 'period correct', and the ONLY thing that looks like it has been changed is the...
