I finished my apprenticeship at a Holder dealership in early 70’s they were great cars. I then moved to Australia & in 2 weeks went from nobody to rectification inspector at Holden assembly plant...

Soap & water scrubbing brush let dry. Now brush in black Kiwi shoe polish very liberally. Thy kind in the flat can. Let it soak in & dry then polish off with a soft brush & rags.

Use a good quality bolt. No to split pin too soft. Make sure you use a bolt that the shoulder goes through shaft & fork then cut threaded part to give just enough for lock nut.
