Re: chirp, chirp, chirp - Update

I just had that problem. Sounded like chipmunks in a cage. Only heard it when there was high vacuum, like at idle. It was a vacuum leak between the carb and manifold. I removed the Tillotson carb and...

Re: 1952 F-1 Project

I'm retiring in 23 days and I bought a '52 F1 2 years ago for one of my projects. Can't wait to get started. Seeing your pictures just make me anxious! Good luck and keep the progress pictures coming.

Re: Mechanical Brakes

My 2 cents worth. If the whole system is restored correctly, all the worn parts are gone, and the brakes are adjusted by the book, mechanical brakes are great. I recommend getting cast iron drums....

Re: Hershey shoes

$10 shoes would spell the end for me. I have flat feet and have to have New Balance shoes and orthotic inserts. Once they're tuned in, I'm good to go.

Re: Why do you own a Model A?

When I was in 7th grade, my shop teacher lived in the neighborhood. He had brought a '29 pickup from Colorado and was restoring it in his garage. I was overcome with curiosity and my Dad saw this....

Re: Hershey Navigation

You can go on the AACA Hershey Region website and print maps of the whole show and individual fields. Then, if you have a few spaces to stop at, you can highlight them. Light poles numbers are noted,...

Great find! I would have bid on it if I were at an auction. The toy box is almost full, but can always make room for another. Personally,I would leave it like it is and drive it for a while. Have you...

Re: Anyone driving in a Memorial Day parade? Also a short, 'Putting up the flag' vide

We did the local parade and then went off to the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in western PA. Very humbling to drive through and see all the grave markers.

Re: 25% HF coupon and 1 ton crane

It'd no worse than being out and hearing "Oh, I need to stop at Kohl's. I have a 30% coupon", and then being dragged thru the store.

Re: 28 Tudor Paint

Could it be that the lacquer that cracked was acrylic lacquer? That was popular before the use of basecoat/clearcoat.

Re: what other old cars are in your garage?

1931 Victoria
1929 Tudor
1952 Ford F-1
1998 Corvette Convertible

Re: First Model A 1930

You will enjoy it more than you thought. Sometimes when I go to the garage I have to think, what will I drive today. The Model A beats the Corvette most times. It brings a smile to people as you...
