Re: Paint Finish Question

If you were to show your satin finished truck at a national MARC or MAFCA meet, you would not lose poiints for the satin. See the Judging Standards. Your fenders and aprons remain gloss because...

Re: ACME Rim Nut pictures on my profile

Nice reproduction part. The reason this part can be detected from the original is clearly seen in the side by side photograph. The original cover on the left has the vertical flutes extending all...

Thanks JunyardJeff for that addition. I'll be glad to ship via Greyhound if that will help a buyer.

Off Track from Original Post by Steve

Dudley,

The Fordor I post a lot about was bought new in New Rochelle, New York, with a deposit check written on July 9, 1929, and a balance check written...

Re: Trunk lid latch

Roadster62,

The "T" handle is nickel plated for 28 and 29.
Check out Vince Falter's website. He's got a bunch of photos of a 30-31 Coupe as it's being assembled. The photos include a bunch...

Re: closed car electric wiper

Jim,

I don't have any photos of a mounted OD C-3. But here's a photo of an EA C-1, mounted in a 29 Fordor. It has the same control configuration as your wiper. This will give you an idea of...

Re: Rear cross member spring stamping codes...

I checked our four A's and none of them had any stamps in the rear crossmember.

However, our unrestored 1929 Fordor had a wired on tag attached to the left rear crossmember through the body...

Re: 1929 2dr sedan

Rich,
I'm not a buyer, I have too many now. But, that's a really solid looking Tudor! I sure hope it gets restored someday.
I'm curious if it has a firewall date. The reason is, the front left...

Cleaning Fasteners

All,

The prior thread about the different techniques used for "unfinished" fasteners got me wondering.

What are all the different methods you guys have used to clean piles of fasteners?...

Re: Look at this radiator!

Mike,

I asked this seller to send me close-up photos of the radiator. It's an original core and is in very good condition. The strap on the passenger side has come loose and a few of the fins...

Re: Unfinished hardware preservation

OK Steve, I'll weigh in.

Greg,
I do a process very similar to what Craig Lewis showed in his post. I too, found that beadblasted hardware was just too "bright," and had to be dulled down to...

Re: Gunmetal Blue Pictures?

Actually, in 1928 and 1929, Ford did not offer many colors on commercial vehicles. Even in early 1930, the colors offered were quite limited. In September 1930, the commercial colors offered were...

Re: Door Upholstery Trim (open vehicle)

Charles,

I don't know of a source for anything closer to original than what you already have. The door latch oval is very close to the original and you shouldn't have much problem using them. ...

Re: Gunmetal Blue Pictures?

Bob,

Our Special Coupe is painted Gunmetal Blue, which as you can see, is more green than blue. The color in the photo is fairly accurate on my computer screen, so it may be on yours, depending...

While I know what the Judging Standards indicate, I am attaching photos of an unrestored June 1929 Standard Fordor and its tail lamp wiring and associated clips.

Re: Goofy Horn Question

A-Jay,

Not really a goofy question at all.
When standing at the left side of the car by the hood, looking forward at the horn, you would be able to read the name Sparton. Sparton stamped those...
