Aligning hood/doors etc etc is a DARK ART . You MUST start at the very front and work back you must have a good hood before you begin . A straight frame is a bonus but good fits can be achieved even...

The 3" bore AF engine was never an industrial engine there never was a need as the 3 7/8" bore A engine was far better suited . AA trucks and vans (small and large) were exempt from the "horse power...

If it has not run for 50 years drop the pan and clean out the goop which right now is submerging the oil pump pick up . Open the valve chest and clean that out too. Take care not to drop debris down...

28/29 frames are drilled both sides for RHD and LHD for the steering box.30/31 frames are mostly drilled on one side depending whether the vehicle was built RHD or LHD .However there are 30/31 frames...

I think you must be right Bob ,I guess the Russians had plenty of wood, all state owned anyway . I have seen pics of GAZ AA trucks,phaetons,vans etc etc but no steel bed pickups narrow or wide bed ....

I had the same problem with my 29 fordor . The hole in the axle was no doubt oval and the hole in the radius rod was very worn as well . It would not be economic to repair these as they seem fairly...

My generator is set to 10 amps so I run with the parking lights on for longer trips .On high beam there is a 2 amp discharge so several hours of night time driving which I doubt I would ever do ....

Check the bracket that is attached to the frame, if it is riveted then it is a factory fitment .It then was most likely a customer special order to accomodate a ladder rack on the drIvers side...

Rhd and Lhd adjust just same as they are a mirror image of each other .Some Rhd boxes do have the shaft bearing endplay nut/bolt on the side instead of the top,maybe this is a Ford or Gemmer thing...

Budd was or maybe still is a large pressed steel company . They were a subcontractor to Ford . They made other bodies for Ford such as some fordors .

Dave is right if the flat topped clevis pins are assembled with the split pin outward the innermost pin can rub on the hub .The other pins will not foul but I expect they were assembled on the line...

All measured at door handle height.
