Re: Worn out 31 roadster value?

All I know for sure is that today, $3K or even $5K doesn't get you too far into a collectible or antique car of course depending on body style, etc.

Re: Worn out 31 roadster value?

Good advice and wow, $$ talks. The rodders will pay really good money for a '30-'31 Roadster. These cars seem to always have a demand for them. Cheaper than a good '32 Ford and basically they are the...

Re: Title change

I understand your situation, and wanting to do the honest thing here.

But tread carefully, because sometimes that VIN you are dealing with comes up on somebody's stolen car list, the cops show up...

Re: Tom is back !!!

Those are nice cars you'll get a lot of use out of it.

A very good Ford mechanic friend told me years ago, that the 3.8 litre V-6 that GM built back then cost them tons of money. I asked him 'They...

Re: A Chinese radiator in a Model A?!!!

I personally don't like it wouldn't go for it, but if for somebody it gets them back on the road for now, until they get a good one from Berg's, well maybe then OK.............

Re: Ammeter

Snyder's and Bratton's would tell you that the ones they sold coming from overseas were poor quality.

Somebody told Brent a couple years back that they were looking into making a quality ammeter...

Re: tires

Synchro, are today's inner tubes quite a bit better than say 10-15 years ago?? Bratton's advertises freshly made tubes with fresh materials. Are these trustworthy??

Signed, nervous to buy new...

Re: Insurance

I've had both Grundy and Hagerty, never had a claim, but was satisfied with both just the same.

Currently all the cars are on Hagerty. You get a price break for insuring several cars. Plus Hagerty...

How Much Is It Worth--$$ comparison update

Not to hijack Bob's thread which is very good by the way, but holding everything in perspective when we talk 'price' of about anything today, look at what inflation has done to your dollars in just...

Re: Where to get the best quality pistons/rings for my A?

adavis here's a link for Hastings piston rings. They used to be pretty good:cool:
They still list piston rings for Model A Fords. Looks like that is what Snyder's sells.

Re: counterbalanced crankshaft

Interesting thread, sounds like it comes down to you-get-what-you-pay-for as in most things in life work out that way.

And it has been said before that Model A Ford people are some of the...

Re: Tonight on Twin Cities Public TV (Mp[ls/St Paul MN)

That's pretty accurate. When IH came out with the Axial Flow Combine, Deere condemned it saying the straw walker was more efficient. When the patent rights ran out for IH low and behold the JD STS...

Re: Seat belts - to be or not to be?

A Roadster would sure be a lousy Model A Ford to be in, in an accident:eek:

Seems like even with slight body flexing the doors will pop open it doesn't take much. And a rollover, ouch!

Re: Bring a Trailer Auction results 1928 Sport Coupe

I prefer Ernie's way of thinking on this.

I've wasted a lot of time and energy attending auctions where the auctioneer was a complete arse as they say overseas.

I've seen plenty of shill...
