Re: Shop led lighting

Your ceiling height probably would not need high bay fixtures, they are for warehouse use with tall ceilings. To limit the need for extra wiring I would go for a one to one swap. Go on line to...

Re: Persistent intake manifold leak

I did a smoke test to find my intake crack. Go on youtube and search how to build a smoke tester for vacuum leaks. They are cheap to build. Cover the exhaust and carb with latex/vinyl glove and a...

Re: STOLEN RODSTER north of Denver

Glad to hear they recovered the car. Let me caution everyone , most people with antique cars have antique insurance. It's very reasonable in cost, however there are restrictions and limitations. The...

Re: drill holes in 51 8ba block

Re: Distributor clamping ideas....

I did what Bubba suggested and used a 10/32 allen set screw A thumb screw would work also. Just drill in a spot that you can get a wrench or your hand to.

Re: 59AB head stud question

Did you tap the head bolt threads to clean them up? If so what type of tap did you use?

Re: dual V-belt crank pulley for 8ba

Sounds like you're on the right track. There was one stock 8ba flathead crank pulley, see picture but the diameters are different. You would need to have the belts run different not parallel. One to...

Re: dual V-belt crank pulley for 8ba

I'll refer you to Joe Abbin's book "Blown Flathead".

Things to consider.

-Determine both pulley diameters (overdrive) by the desired boost and motor displacement. The Formula is in Joe's...

Re: 8BA spark plug wire brackets

I took an earlier set of metal wire looms, cut off the flute and bend and reattached the flute . Also moved two of the mounting legs.

Re: Turn signals but keeping single element bulb

I went back and read the past posts. He is using the 7 wire turn signal. In that case there is not a problem with the brakes washing out the directional lights.

Re: Turn signals but keeping single element bulb

Something you may have considered already. You have to make sure the brake light doesn't wash out the directionals.

Re: 6 volt generator output

I see where my confusion comes from. I went and searched for a 1939 wiring diagram. The Field/Generator connection for a "39", is different from my later set up with Armature/Field/Ground terminals.

Re: 6 volt generator output

Re: Turn signals but keeping single element bulb

You can take an amber colored marker and color the bulb. Once colored you need to be careful handling it, your touch will remove the amber from the glass. I would say it works ok, not great, but ok....

Re: brakes?

You could give it try. Leave the MC cap off or loose and make sure you don't over fill it.

Re: Swap meet selling

Unless you have an original set of N.O.S. Aurdun heads I wouldn't price stuff to high in the first half. As a buyer I try to get around the entire swap meet and rarely go back.
