You would need to get a pulley from a about 38 to 40 that has the four lugs to take the fan and swap them .

kustoms,
I recently modified an 8BA generator pulley for a customer to mount
the fan to. If you can't find the correct pulley let me know.
Thanks,

I may have a pulley like you need listed here. Check this ad and page down to pictures of pulleys.

Mac's has repro fan-mount 78-10130 generator pulleys for the large-shaft 37, 38 and 39 std 3-brush generators. A possible problem: this pulley ideally should be used with the compatible 78-10139 front plate, which apparently is not reproduced. I don't know if it will work with other front plates.

Another thought: Back in the day, aftermarket suppliers produced a fan-mount generator pulley specifically for the 40-48 generators with the screw-on pulleys. Probably a bit scarce, but I did see one of these on the auction site a while ago.

The most compatible generator with pulley fan mount and that functions with voltage regulator is the 1939 Ford Standard and 1939 pickup and truck.

It's not just a matter of finding a pulley that fits but there are various sizes. You don't want one that it to large or it won't charge right. This is real important if you use an alternator. The ones with the pulley OD close to the threads for the screws are best. G.M.

I know this is an old thread, but still relevant info. Here is a prime example of an aftermarket pulley I just picked up.
