Generator Band Double Date Code?

No, this is not from a police K9 unit.:D:p LOL

I'm working on a guy's generator that has a date code on each end of the band. I don't recall seeing this before and was wondering if this is just a mistake, or was it common practice for a while?:confused:

Most of the bands I have seen [ not '28] have these stamps.
J= 1929, K=1930,L=1931. The number is the month.
Think it was more to do when the generator & starter were assembled & not the car.
My '29 has J 5 on gen. & starter bands but it was not assembled until late '29.
If you are commenting on it being double stamped, well that is something else.
