those that have added turn signals any tips, what about adding right side tail light for rear lights where would be a good place to purchase

I did add a right hand turn signal on my 29 coupe which is not "orginal". But I wanted rear turn signals.

But a friend was over the other day and ask why I did not put the little ones the vendors sell in between the bumpers. He is correct, this is another way of putting on signals and keeping thing kind of orginal.

I think there were some connectors I got as well, just don't remember.

I assume that this would be for your PU. Coupe or Sedan would be different.

I also put cowl lights with dual filaments to use as front signals, and that's not included in the above list.

And, Mike, I know this isn't original, but these were added on my rig as a safety item! :D

I stuck with my original fixtures, and purchased a knock-off SIGNAL STAT 900 from Gaslight Automotive for under $20 ten years ago, using existing taillites and cowl lamps in addition to the flasher and its holder I purchased from them for maybe twenty dollars more, thereabouts.
I SUBSEQUENTLY replaced my original taillites with those LED CARDS with maybe twenty all red LEDs or so which are every bit as bright as modern car taillites.
The cowl lamps are quite adequate as they are really only necessary at left turns at a light, and I find myself waved ahead all the time here on Long Island so I guess they are noticed.

I think the lights between the bumper bars are a little low to the road for maximum visibility. IF your Model A already has cowl lights, I would use the dual filament conversion kit for the cowl lights, but I certainly would not add cowl lights if you do not already have them. (I did not convert my cowl lights to dual filament. I just disabled the park light function of the cowl lights and use them for turn signals. I'm sorry I did it that way, but I probably won't go back now and convert to dual filiament.) For the rear, using an original style tail light on the right side looks OK, and certainly looks more like it COULD be original than any other type of light you add on to the rear. I think it is a good idea to add the liddy light to the rear window, but I failed to do that also. Just my opinion--others may disagree.

Here in Florida we don't use directionals. Directionals only tell the driver behind you you are moving into his lane and he thinks F NO and speeds up to keep you in your lane. Here we just move over to suprise the driver and not give him the chance to move faster.:cool:

For those of us driving Roadsters, the option of adding the tail light to the right side is a real loser. If you are used to carrying passengers in the rumble seat this is a disaster. both for the light and for "shins". I guess the lights between the bumpers is about the only choice I see for a Roadster.

Consider using a "brakelighter" by J&L Enterprises (see sticky above). They are unobtrusive and mount inside the rear window with suction cups. They act like a third brake light as well as directional lights. The guy behind you will see a high mounted light way before he sees bumper mounted lights. I've been using one for years in my tudor.

We also drive in the left lane of a four lane highway 20 MPH under the posted speed limit with our right turn signal on for 5 to 10 miles at a time.:p

South Carolina is home of the 10 foot turn signal .

Its state law that the brakes are applied before any signal .

To accomplish this one must engage signal in last 10 feet or during turn .

HELP,
For my Early '29 Coupe, I bought those TINY-TINY rectangular chrome shell, stud mount lights for front signals. Where to put them?????? Thinking of putting them in the "A" post, just above the center door hinge. If they looked too obvious, I would paint them body color.

I think the problem with lights that are hidden away, is that people don't see them BEFORE they need to. If the lights are obvious, people know they are there and pay some attention to them, and so if they light up, they know something is going on.

I got all the parts from Macs, as they had all I required for my project. Worked perfectly, I just had to fabricate the panel that extends out to hold the V8 light on the inside.

I know they aren't "correct", but I think they look in fitting, and all the lights are separate, causing less confusion. It is NOT normal to have a flashing brake light as a turn signal over here, so wanted each light to stand alone - Brake, tail and turn.
