I noticed that the cowl on the right is an early 28, with the welting mounted through the cowl instead of the flange, like the one on the left.

What are those thingys that look like somekind of fasteners I think ?

Cleco skin pins. There is a special set of pliers that grip a ring around the body and push down the plunger in the centre. The pin halfs are pushed through a rivet/jig hole and when the pliers are released, a spring inside pulls a wedge up between the pin halves and spreads them out locking the pin in place.
