Re: winsdhield wiper motor is mine original Yours should be vacuum, but there are many variations. A photo would help identify what you have.

Fred, on further research I see that there is a crossover period for electric wipers for the 1930 Town Sedans. The JS say electric until about April 1930, both from April to July, then vacuum for the rest of production. This is for US production, though; I don't know about Canada.
Here is what the JS show. If the motor you have looks like this, you've got the right one. |
Re: winsdhield wiper motor is mine original Town Sedans had electric wipers approximately through June 1930. If it has an oval speedometer it almost certainly had an electric wiper. This does not necessarily apply to Standard Fordors. I suspect they went longer on Canadian built cars. The mounting hole pattern was different so you would likely find extra holes in your windshield frame if it has been changed.
The wiper you describe would be a replacement (like most of us have). The Trico wipers originally used had no patent numbers but instead had a series of patent dates. The last date listed found in the circle was in 1925 but I don't recall the month and day. |
Re: winsdhield wiper motor is mine original Fred,
I bought the Model A Restoration Guidelines & Judging Standards Complete with latest revisions from the MAFCA fo $25.00. I am not nor plan to restore a Model A but I have to tell you you'll know what fits what and what should be on what. A great reference. It is a bargain. https://mafca.com/cart/index.php?productID=115 |
