Gear shift and emergency brake boot

I have a 35 cabriolet. I noticed on p. 40 of the 1935-36 book that there is no boot over the base of the gearshit or the emergency brake. Is there some sort of an insulator like the one that goes around the brake, clutch pedal and the steering column at the floor board area?

I agree no original boot on shifter or emergency brake as shown in factory photos. I did make my own brown vinyl boots just because I could.

Yes, under the transmission cover are the sponge rubber seals. See page 12.

Alan-

I have a '36 cabriolet which is similar to your '35. What I did was take a seal from a '33-'34 (it is suppose to fit a '35-'36 but it doesn't) and cut off the emergency brake portion of the seal. I slid the seal down the emergency brake handle to the first bolt. I then installed the sheetmetal trans cover. Once the cover was down and the floor covering placed on top I slid down the e-brake bellows and that was it. The floor opening occupied by the e-brake is now sealed on the bottom and the top. Works well with no problems and hides the floor covering opening.

Who makes accurate transmission and handbrake seals as well as the escutcheon plate as shown on page 12?

No one makes the plate, you have to find an original. It seems that the correct seals are not made either so you can cut up one of the reproductions.
