Short black wire from the coil.

Some Model A publications show the short black wire from the minus lead at the coil going to the yellow with black tracer wire that ends up at the generator.
Other publications show it going to the yellow wire that end up at the starter.
Does anyone know which is correct? Does it matter?
Thanks, Neil

Re: Short black wire from the coil.

It can go to either one. However, if it goes on the side with the wire that goes to the alternator/generator, then you can see the ignition system "load" on the electrical system. That's helpful for roadside troubleshooting.

Re: Short black wire from the coil.

Ford change the wiring in November 1929, The coil going to the yellow wire is the old way.
See page 390 of the Service Bulletins.
