EBAY 1927 Rip van Winkle |
Re: EBAY 1927 Rip van Winkle Wow, there is allot of things on that car that are interesting/different. Do you think Pontiac used wooden running boards? I liked the rear only brakes, and the two head six. That sandwich muffler was interesting too! Thanks for sharing.

Sadly, I am not 'buying it' as a Rip Van Winkle car with only 36 thousand miles. There are many things on this car that throw up a red flag to me. This is a prime example how car dealers prey on the unknowing with their advertising. Most of us here on Fordbarn know the details to look at on a Model-A where we can tell if it is genuine or not --however this is a great example of how a car that most folks are not familiar with can easily get taken on with advertising hype. People like those words the Seller is using so they "want to believe it".
For example, in this picture below, tell me what you see with the Clutch & Brake pedal. Is this consistant with 36k miles? Around the edges on the bottom you will see the non-slip pattern on the pedal heads are worn smooth. This is not consistant with 36,000 mile vehicles. Look at the other pictures and study the details like the patching of the top, or the vacuum tank not working, or the ignition switch being by-passed. Pontiac was a very well built car using good materials and construction methods for the era, and this car way too many dents, bangs, faults, and issues showing in my opinion. |
Re: EBAY 1927 Rip van Winkle its an old car & all that goes with that . but i do like it because it is different . if you have the shop , time , $$$ to fix it , it would be cool !
